Berry College's women's tennis team won the top two doubles matches and the top five singles matches en route to a 7-2 victory over Oglethorpe University in Atlanta Friday.
Jenn Tinnell, who missed the past five matches due to injury, returned to the No. 1 position in Berry's lineup in magnificent fashion, defeating Oglethorpe's Caffrey Francis 6-2, 6-4 in singles competition and teaming with Alex Sanguily to beat Sarah Duff and K.C. Te 8-2 in doubles action.
Berry also picked up a doubles win from Caitlin Smith and Maggie MacDonald, who defeated Francis and Clara Reinheimer 8-0 in the second slot.
Sanguily dominated her singles match against Te, winning 6-0, 6-1.
Maggie MacDonald and Keri McGinnis also won their singles matches in straight sets for the Vikings. MacDonald defeated Kate Siess 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 4 position, and McGinnis defeated Reinheimer 6-4, 6-0.
Caitlin Smith also earned a singles win for the Vikings, coming back from a set down to defeat Duff 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.
Berry is scheduled to return to action Tuesday at Covenant.
