TC Boyd drove in four runs and Cory Pitts drove in three to lead Berry to a 16-2 win over Oglethorpe in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday in Atlanta.  Pitts homered again in the second game as the Vikings went on to win the nightcap 10-8 and give themselves a sweep of the twin bill and the three-game season-ending series. 

The Vikings racked up 18 hits in the opener, including three each from Boyd, Thomas Johnson and Travis Blackburn, and two apiece from Pitts, Austin Neely and Madison Moss.  Six of those hits went for extra bases, including a double and a homer from Pitts.

Isaac Hardee drove in a pair of runs with a two-run double in the third.

Berry led 5-2 before blowing the game open with a seven-run sixth inning and four more runs in the seventh.  Pitts' three-run homer, Boyd's three-run double and an RBI single from Moss highlighted the sixth.  RBIs from Cason Dremann and Trey Kilgore highlighted the seventh.

Berry starter Scott Pollock (3-1) earned the win.  In five innings, Pollock allowed two runs on two hits and two walks.  He struck out seven batters.

Vikings reliever Levi Austin allowed a pair of hits and fanned three batters in two shutout innings.

Oglethorpe starter Matt Cornwel allowed 12 runs on 15 hits in six innings of work.

In the second game, Moss went 3-for-4 and Pitts, Neely and Johnson drove in two runs each.

The Stormy Petrels fought back from a 6-1 defecit to tie the score with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.  But Berry would answer in the top of the sixth, as Pitts belted a two-run homer and Brett Hardy delivered an RBI single up the middle to make the score 9-6.

Oglethorpe would not go away, though, scoring two runs on one swing of the bat in the bottom of the fifth on a home run from Brendan Pilger, which pulled the Petrels to within 9-8.  But Berry would pick up an insurance run in the seventh when Brandyn Jackson scored from second base on an error, and that was more than enough for the Vikings.

Trent Hillis (4-1) earned the victory in relief for the Vikings.  He walked one and struck out two in 1 1/3 innings of work.  He was the second of four Berry pitchers to appear in the game.

Vikings' starter Casey Gray allowed six runs (four earned) in 4 1/3 innings.  Daniel Boccella allowed two hits and two runs in 1/3 of an inning.  Josh Dilbeck slammed the door in the seventh, allowing a one-out hit before inducing a game-ending double play to secure his fourth save.

The win gave the Vikings a 26-14 overall record to end the season, including wins in 12 of the team's final 15 games.
