Isaac Hardee had three hits and drove in a pair of runs and Cason Dremann collected three hits as Berry defeated Covenant 6-5 and gave David Beasley his 450th career head coaching victory Tuesday in Lookout Mountain, Ga.

The game was a see-saw affair, with Covenant scoring the game's first run in the second inning, before Berry knotted the score in the third on an RBI single from Austin Neely.

But Covenant would regain its lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, only to have Berry go ahead 5-3 after scoring a run in the fourth on an RBI fielder's choice from TC Boyd and putting together a three-run fifth.

Hardee highlighted the top of the fifth with a two-run single to left field that scored Dremann and Thomas Johnson.  Dremann drove in the inning's other run earlier in the frame when he singled home Cory Pitts.

Covenant would not let go, scoring once in the bottom of the fifth and again in the seventh to tie the score 5-5.

But errors would doom the Scots in the eighth, as Madison Moss would take advantage of a two-base error to lead off the inning and would then score when Covenant's pitcher threw away a ball attempting to throw out the next batter, Preston Neely. 

That run would prove to be the game winner for the Vikings.

Berry (23-14) outhit Covenant 12-11 in the game, with Travis Blackburn, who tallied two hits, joining Hardee and Dremann in the multi-hit category. 

TJ Page (2-1), the fourth of five Berry pitchers to take the hill, came away with the victory after tossing two shutout innings.  Page allowed two hits and struck out three batters.

Josh Dilbeck earned his third save of the season by pitching a perfect ninth inning.

For Beasley, the win is another milestone in his 14-year career as the Vikings' skipper.  The winningest coach in the history of the program, Beasley now owns a 450-289-1 career record as a head coach, all at Berry.  He has never had a losing season as a head coach or an assistant coach at Berry.

The Vikings will look to get Beasley his 451st victory Friday evening, when they host Oglethorpe at 6 p.m., in the final home game of the season.  Prior to the game's first pitch, Berry will honor a group of six graduating players who will be playing in their final home game.
