Box Score Thomas Johnson and Madison Moss drove in two runs apiece and Scott Pollock was sensational in producing Berry's second straight complete game effort as the Vikings defeated Emory 5-1 at Chappell Park in Atlanta Sunday.
Berry (20-12) scored twice in the third inning, thanks to RBI fielder's choice ground balls from Austin Neely and Johnson.
Moss gave Berry a 3-run lead in the fourth when he poked a single through the left side of the infield, pushing home Travis Blackburn. Moss delivered again two innings later, lifting a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Cason Dremann.
Johnson would finish the Vikings' scoring efforts in the seventh when he belted a home run over the fence in left field that gave Berry a 5-0 lead.
Pollock, meanwhile, was having his way with the Eagles' hitters, scattering seven hits over nine innings. He was one out away from a shutout, but Patrick Riebsame delivered an RBI double with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to drive in Emory's lone run. Pollock struck out the next batter swinging to end the ballgame.
Pollock (2-1) struck out seven batters and walked just one for the Vikings. His complete-game victory came just one day after Cameron Rich became the first Berry hurler this season to throw a nine inning complete game. Rich and the Vikings defeated Emory 6-3 Saturday.
Johnson was 3-for-4 to lead Berry, while Dremann, Jonathan Stump and Moss each had two hits.
Berry returns to action Tuesday, when it hosts a doubleheader against Atlanta Christian at 4 p.m.
