After spending two years playing professionally, former Berrypoint guard Tramaine Aaron returned to Mount Berry as theVikings’ graduate assistant coach in the summer of2011.
Aaron comes back to Berry after playing for TV Werne BB of theRegionalliga Deutsch Basketball League, which he led to the 2010league championship. A two-year starter and team captain,Aaron earned TV Werne BB’s team MVP honor in2010.
During Aaron’s collegiate playing career, the Marietta,Ga., native earned first team All-Southern States AthleticConference honors as a junior and senior, and was an honorablemention NAIA All-American in 2006-07, his final year on campus. Afour-time SSAC Player of the Week who served as Berry’s teamcaptain in each of his final two seasons, Aaron helped lead theVikings to a pair of appearances in the semifinals of the SSACTournament.
Aaron enrolled at Berry after a stellar prep career inwhich he helped lead Wheeler High School to a pair of Class AAAAAstate titles. In 2003, the second of Wheeler’sback-to-back championship seasons, Aaron earned All-StateTournament honors.
While continuing his playing career, Aaron also began hiscoaching career, serving as the head coach of Werne’s U18girls team and its first division women’s team. He hasalso served as the co-director of Southern Polytechnic StateUniversity’s Jr. Hornets Basketball Camp and as a coach atBerry’s annual summer camps.
Aaron, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing fromBerry in 2007, is currently pursuing a master’s degree ineducation.
