Director of Athletics, Dr. Angel Mason has named Shaniya Taylor as the Assistant to the Director of Athletics, an internship sponsored by the NCAA.

This NCAA internship is under the Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant program that funds full-time, entry-level athletics administrative positions for two academic years.

This grant is designated to provide financial assistance to the division’s member schools and conferences that are committed to enhancing ethnic minority and gender representation in entry-level, intercollegiate athletics administrative positions.

Berry Athletics has designed this internship to provide a foundational perspective on the business of athletics. With collaborative efforts from the conference, Taylor will gain exposure to NCAA compliance, gameday operations, strategic planning, fundraising, student-athlete programming, and championships. She will serve as the student-athlete advisory committee liaison and work on all department special events.

Taylor joins Berry Athletics after graduating with her Master of Science from North Carolina Central University in December of 2023.

Taylor begins working with the Viking Athletic staff in the 2024-2025 year and will serve as a two-year intern.
