ROME, Ga. — The Berry College volleyball team saw its phenomenal season come to a close on Saturday evening with a 3-1 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor in the Mount Berry Regional Semifinals.
The Vikings close the season 26-4 on the year. Set scores were 22-25, 25-15, 17-25 and 26-28.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mary Hardin-Baylor jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the opening set. The Vikings battled back to within three, but UMHB secured the set 25-22.
- Berry dominated set two, hitting .417 and cruising to a 25-15.
- UMHB flipped the momentum and handled set three.
- In a back-and-forth fourth set, Berry battled to a 24-20 advantage before UMHB rattled off four straight points to tie the game. The Crusaders eventually secured the match off a kill from Corinne Novak.
