Volleyball Clinches Share of SAA Title, Improves to 20-3

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Berry College volleyball team extended their win streak to 15 straight matches, clinching at least a share of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) regular season crown with 3-0 victories over Millsaps and William Peace on Sunday afternoon.
In the first match of the day, the Vikings improved to 12-0 in league play with a shutout win over the Majors. Berry hit .296 as a team including a game-high 12 kills from Carson VanCampen. Berry also had five blocks in the match. With the win, the Vikings secured their first regular season title since 2013 and locked up the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the SAA tournament.
Berry then downed out-of-conference foe William Peace in three sets to improve to 20-3. The Vikings earned eight blocks and hit .313 as a team.

  • The Vikings will now host the SAA tournament as the top seed on Nov. 3-5. 
  • Berry still has a chance to clinch the title outright with another conference win or a BSC conference loss.
  • Berry's 15 game win streak ranks among the best in NCAA Division III. 
  • The Vikings will travel to Lookout Mountain, Ga., to take on Covenant College in their next contest on Wed., October 18 at 7:00 p.m.
