NORFOLK, Va. — Berry College's Brooke Boyd, Haley Brown and Sarah Pierce have been selected as College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-Americans, becoming the first honorees in program history.
The award recognizes students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
The trio qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships as members of the 800-yard freestyle relay team, marking the first time the Berry women's program has ever had swimmers qualify for the national meet. Brown also became the first Viking ever to earn a spot in the consolation finals and All-America Honorable Mention honors after posting a 51.14 prelim time in the 100-yard freestyle. She then swam a 51.30 in the finals for a 13th overall finish.
