Biography

ABOUT: From Parkland, Florida, Laina is the daughter of Richard and Yuki Engelbart and has a sister named Mia. The animal science and biology major loves trying new things with friends, going outdoors for runs and hikes, and she does video editing as well in her free time. Her favorite superhero is Spider-Man, and a superstition she has is that blue birds symbolize good luck. 

HIGH SCHOOL: As a Marjory Stoneman Eagle, Laina excelled in the classroom as a National Honor Society member, a Certified Microsoft Office Specialist, and was a Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Co-host. On the field, Engelbart was All-Broward County First Team in two straight seasons and was a DPL Sunrise Sting Conference Champion from 2021-2024. She also led her team to a state-semifinals in 2024.
