Women's Lacrosse Drops Overtime Battle to Oglethorpe 12-11

ROME, Ga. — Meg Massey scored the equalizer with just over two and a half minutes left to play, but the Berry College women's lacrosse team fell to Oglethorpe University 12-11 in overtime to remain winless in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) competition.

Ashley Merritt led Berry offensively, scoring four goals and putting seven shots on cage. Miranda Smith also tallied three goals. Ella Makin recorded 20 saves in cage for Berry.

The teams traded scores in the first half, but a 4-1 run by the Stormy Petrels to close out the half gave the SAA rival a two-goal advantage at the break. Berry fought back in the second half, forcing overtime, but Madison Goss scored for OU just over a minute into the bonus period.

Berry will wrap up the regular season at Rhodes on April 13.
