Women's Lacrosse Drops Home Opener to Life 14-8

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's lacrosse team dropped its home opener on Thursday evening, falling to NAIA-foe Life University 14-8. With the loss, Berry falls to 0-4 on the year. Life improved to 2-1. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Vikings jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the first 10 minutes. 
  • Life University then went on an 8-0 run to slow the Vikings attack. 
  • Berry tallied a pair of man-down goals by Nikki Beckham and Carlee May to cut the lead to 8-5. 
  • Life tallied five straight goals after leading 10-5 at the half to take a 13-5 advantage. 
  • Miranda Smith found the back of the net three straight times later in the second half, but Life would score once more to secure the 14-8 win.
