Women's Lacrosse Tops Adrian 13-12

SEWANEE, Tenn. –  The Vikings claimed a 13-12 victory after maintaining a close lead in the first-half against Adrian College on Tuesday night. Rose Blanchard scored a season-high five goals in the matchup, leading the team to their third victory of the year.

Berry started off strong in the first half with Shadae Williams scoring early off the opening draw. Five more Vikings would score before the end of the first half. Keiley Ayers followed, adding two goals in the first 30 minutes of play, as well as one tally in the second period, with Maddie Yokeley, Miranda Smith and Olivia Iobst each also added goals on the night to secure the win.

The Bulldog’s Annie Rice led Adrian Colleges’ offense in the outing, adding three goals in the loss. Although the Bulldogs led the contest in shots (27-25) and ground balls (27-24), Berry held their own in the contest in draw controls (15-12). Ella Makin earned the complete-game win in goal for Berry, recording nine saves, while allowing 12 goals and moving the Vikings to 3-1 on the year.  Hannah Emerson took the loss in goal for Adrian College, recording four saves, while allowing 13 goals.
