ROME, Ga. — Madison Wilder led the Berry College women's basketball team to a 71-52 victory over Brevard College on Thursday night, giving the Vikings their first win of the season.
Wilder led all scorers on 10-for-17 shooting. She also earned nine rebounds and four steals. Kennedy Moore followed with eight points and six rebounds. As a team, the Vikings forced 21 Brevard turnovers and shot 39.3%% from the field.
The Vikings roared out to a nine point advantage after the opening quarter and took a 39-25 advantage into the break. Both teams struggled shooting in the third quarter, but solid defense helped secure the win for the Vikings.
Berry returns to action on Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the Cage Center against Wesleyan.
