Women's Basketball Claims Fourth Straight, Tops Hendrix 52-41

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's basketball team defeated the visiting Hendrix Warriors 52-41 on Friday night, winning their fourth straight game to improve to 8-11 overall on the year and 4-4 in the Southern Athletic Association.

The Vikings currently boast their best winning streak in conference play since January of 2015 when they started the season 5-0 in league competition.

Berry used double-digit scoring nights from four of their starters including Mary Walters, Alex Weems, Jana Morning and Christine Cerezola to earn the victory. The team also dominated the boards, out-rebounding Hendrix 34-19 including seven offensive rebounds. 

The Vikings and Warriors traded blows for most of the first half as Berry held a slip 23-21 lead at halftime. Berry then outscored the Warriors 16-8 in the third and held on to secure the win.
