COLUMBUS, Miss. — A tough fourth quarter proved costly for the Berry College women's basketball team, as the Vikings dropped an out of conference tile at Mississippi University for Women on Monday night 69-64.
The Vikings shot just 25.0% in the final period, finding themselves outscored 22-15. The loss drops Berry to 2-6 overall on the year. The Vikings were led by Christine Cerezola who scored a season-high 16 points off the bench. She was 5-for-10 from the field and 4-for-7 on three point shots. Alex Weems followed with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting.
Berry jumped out to a 20-12 lead in the opening period and led 33-28 at halftime. The Vikings' 16 turnovers resulted in 13 points for the Owls as MUW also dominated down low, scoring 42 points in the paint.
The Vikings are back in action on Friday at home against LaGrange at 6:30 PM.
