Softball Earns Doubleheader Sweep of Majors on Saturday

ROME, Ga. — Abbey Gamble hit a walk off double in game two to lift the Berry College softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Millsaps College on Saturday afternoon. 

Meredith Holland secured the win in game one, tossing 7.0 innings. Makenzie Flynt threw the complete game in the second game to win her ninth of the year. 

GAME ONE:

  • Brooke Whittemore scored in the first inning off an error to give Berry a 1-0 lead.
  • Millsaps tied it in the second and took the lead in the fourth off an error.
  • Katlin Seger then sent a three-run homer over the left field wall to give the Vikings a 4-2 lead.
  • The Majors plated one in the sixth, but Berry held on for the win.

GAME TWO:

  • Berry led 3-0 after the third inning. 
  • The Majors plated one in the fourth off the bat of Carder, then took the lead in the sixth inning 4-3.
  • Millsaps scored another in the seventh off a Taliaferr double. 
  • Berry trailed 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh. Hunt drove in two with a single to center to tie it before Gamble's walk off double.
