ROME, Ga. - - The Berry College softball team rounded out their home season with two five-inning wins against Covenant College on Tuesday night. Game scores were 10-0 and 8-0.
The wins improved the Vikings to 29-6 overall, while the Scots fell to 17-20.
Katlin Seger led the BC offense in game one, contributing two hits and three RBI in the win. Seger was 2-for-3 at the plate and added one run as well.
Elisabeth Federici also had two hits for Berry. Federici was 2-for-3 on the day and scored once for the Vikes.
Ferrell, Tuttle and Moore each added one, two and three RBIs respectively.
Kassie Howard (21-2) earned the win on the mound in both games for the Vikings. With 21 wins this season, Howard bettered her own record for the most wins in a BC season. She tossed three innings in game one, allowing no hits while striking out four batters. Allie Coronado finished the game in the circle for BC, allowing only one hit in the final two frames.
Howard threw four innings for the Vikes in game two, allowing three hits while striking out seven. Collop wroked the final inning of the day for Berry.
In game two, Moore led the offense with two hits in the victory. Moore was 2-for-3 at the plate and knocked in four RBI for Berry.
Tuttle and Kenzie Fleming rounded out the BC offense with one hit a piece in the final game.
For the Scots, four players had one hit on the day: Kasey Hart, Shannon Schmitt, Morgan Lane and Joni Johnson.
The Vikings travel to Danville, Kentucky for their final SAA regular season series against Centre College on Saturday, April 16. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
