Berry Softball Wins Two on Saturday in North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. ---Berry College softball ran its winning streak to eight games after the Vikings defeated Wilson and ninth-ranked Rowan on Saturday at the William Peace Tournament.

In the first game, the Vikings defeated Wilson 10-0 in five innings. It was the fifth straight game where BC has mercy-ruled its opponent.

Allie Coronado (2-1) tossed a one hitter in the pitching circle for Berry.

Marie Collop walloped a three-run home run for the Vikes at the plate. Katlin Seger had two hits--one a double--one run and four RBI for Berry. Kylie Aiken was 2-for-3 with a run and one run batted in.

In the second game, the Vikings defeated Rowan University, 11-4. Brittany Tuttle was 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base and a sacrifice fly. Sarah Moore hit 2-of-3 with a double and two RBI.

Kassie Howard threw a complete game and earned the win. She scattered nine hits and moved to 5-0 on the season.

The Vikings close out their North Carolina road trip by facing Piedmont and Greensboro College on Sunday.
