ROME, Ga. – Head track & field coach Luke Syverson and head cross country coach Paul Deaton announced the addition of 17 newcomers to the Berry men's cross country and track & field teams today.
The class will give added depth to a men's cross country and track & field team team that finished in the top three at last year's Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships meets.
“When we first started evaluating the needs of this class, we knew that we needed to bolster the distance and cross country event group," Syverson said. "We also knew we were losing SAA champions in both the middle distances and sprints. This class is not only our largest recruiting class since restarting the program, it is probably the deepest class we have had in several years with many of these incoming distance freshman having an opportunity to be in our top seven come SAA and regional championship time. We also are excited about adding one of the top sprinters and top hurdlers in the state.”
