DANVILLE, Ky. — The Berry College men's and women's swimming & diving teams fell to Centre College this afternoon in a dual meet. Centre just barely claimed victory over the Vikings' women's team by a score of 143.5 tp 137.5. The men fell 173 to 104.
Berry's Sydney Partlow and Grace Bailey took first and second place in the one meter diving competition to open the meet. Brooke Boyd then went on to win the 1,000 freestyle before Sarah Pierce claimed a 100 backstroke victory after a third place finish in the 200 freestyle. Freshman Sydney Nelson claimed first in the 200 butterfly with an impressive time of 2:14.40. Freshman Grace Pleasant earned first in the 100 breaststroke as well before fellow freshman Hannah Smith took the top spot in the 50 free. Brooke Boyd continued her strong distance showing with a win in the 500 freestyle. On the men's side, freshman Noah Brand took second in the men's 200 fly and 200 freestyle. Michael Bemin took a close second in the 50 free.
Berry travels to Sewanee on Nov. 9.
