ATLANTA — Following competition at the 2018 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Swimming and Diving Championships, the league officially released the All-Conference honorees and major award winners on Tuesday.
Berry placed 12 total honorees to the All-Conference teams for both the men and women. Student-athletes that won a league championship event automatically qualified for All-SAA first-team honors. A second place finish at the league championships earned a student-athlete a spot on the All-SAA second-team while a third-place finish qualified a student-athlete to the All-SAA honorable mention squad.
The women were highlighted by Brooke Boyd's first-team placing and SAA Newcomer of the Year award. Head coach Paul Flinchbaugh was also selected as the SAA Women's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year for leading his team to one of the best seasons in program history. Joining Boyd on the first-team was Josie Hadaway. Second-team honorees included Haley Brown, Maggie Hogsed, Sarah Pierce and Sydney Ragsdale.
For the men's team, Michael Bemis earned the lone first-team placing while Cory Mullins, Jackson Parker, Laramie Sellers, Mac Stovall and Dylan White were named honorable mention.
