Men's Lacrosse Drops Back-and-Forth Bout to Rhodes

ROME, Ga. — The Berry men's lacrosse team dropped a 10-7 battle with Rhodes College on Sunday afternoon, falling to 1-2 in conference play. 

The Vikings were led by McKinley Gannon who scored a pair on nine shots. Riley Brogdon earned six saves in cage. 

Berry out-shot the Lynx 48-to-31, but struggled to put shots on cage, recording just 21 shots on goal. The Vikings also failed to convert five man-up opportunities. 

Rhodes went on a 3-0 run in the middle of the first quarter to hold a 3-2 lead after one. The Lynx also scored four in the second to hold a 7-5 lead at the half. Berry tightened up defensively in the second half, allowing three Rhodes goals, but were unable to overcome the deficit. 

The Vikings continue SAA play on Saturday as they host Sewanee at 1:00 p.m.
