Men's Lacrosse Falls to Rhodes in SAA Finals

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Berry College men's lacrosse team went on a 3-1 run late in the third quarter, but fell in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) finals to Rhodes College 15-8. 

Berry closes the season 9-8 overall, advancing to the SAA title game for the first time since 2015. Thomas Brennan led the team offensively scoring three goals on four shots. Riley Brogdon faced 25 shots in cage, recording 10 saves. 


  • Berry fell behind 2-0 in the first quarter before an unassisted score from Justin Westbrook cut the lead to one. 
  • The Lynx went on a 4-0 run at the end of the first and through the second before goals from Hudson Harris and Brennan cut the lead to three at the half. 
  • The Vikings surrendered two goals in the first minute of the third quarter, then went on their best scoring run. Goals from Andrew Elgin, Hudson Harris and Thomas Brennan cut the lead to 10-7 with just over four minutes left in the third quarter. 
  • Rhodes closed out the game, going on a 5-1 run to secure the SAA title.
