Men's Basketball Survives Slow Start, Outlasts Hendrix 53-44

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College men's basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat the Hendrix College Warriors 53-44 on Friday night, improving to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play. 

Berry, having now won four of their last five games, were led by Elijah Hirsh who scored his sixth double-double of the season. Myles Moore contributed 10 points of his own on 4-of-7 shooting. The Vikings defense held Hendrix to just a 28.6% shooting percentage and forced 11 turnovers which the Vikings converted to 10 points.

After an abnormally low-scoring first half, Berry found themselves down 15-14 at halftime. Both teams shot under 30% in the opening period and combined for a 25% shooting percentage from the free throw line. 

The Vikings cleaned things up in the second period as they shot 53.3% from the field to secure the win.
