ATLANTA — Berry's Elijah Hirsh has been selected as this week's Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Hirsh scored a career-high 31 points on Friday night to lead the Berry Vikings to an 82-81 double-overtime victory over Oglethorpe. The senior also scored the game-winner with just two seconds remaining.
The win pushed Berry to 7-1 on the season and 1-0 in SAA play. Hirsh's game-winning shot capped a career night. He finished with a career-best 31 points on 13-for-16 shooting, eight rebounds, five steals and a block.
His 13 made field goals, 31 points and 81.2 field goal percentage all rank inside the top-10 for a single game in Berry's NCAA Division III era.
