Berry Athletics Aims to Break Attendance Record at Friday's Basketball Games

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College men's and women's basketball teams will attempt to break each team's attendance record in the Cage Center on Friday night, the Berry Athletics Department announced on Wednesday.

The current records were set on Jan. 24, 2011 when the Vikings hosted the Shorter University Hawks in the Cage. The women's basketball attendance record is set at 1,934 while the men's is 2,151.

The first 10 students in the "Shipyard," the Berry student section, for each game will receive a free t-shirt. There will also be giveaways throughout the evening open to all attendees. All members of the Berry and Rome community are welcome and admission will be free for both games.

At halftime of the men's basketball contest, Berry will recognize the Vikings football and volleyball teams for their conference championships last fall. The Berry College Vikettes will also perform at halftime of both games.
