Hirsh Scores Career-High, Men's Basketball Tripped Up at Hendrix on Friday

CONWAY, Ark. — Elijah Hirsh scored a career-high 33 points, but the Vikings’ offense went cold in the second half as the Hendrix College Warriors claimed a tight 66-63 win on Friday night.

Hirsh’s point total from Friday night puts him tied for third in Berry’s NCAA DIII era for points scored in a single game. It was also his third-straight double-double and fourth of the season.

The loss drops Berry to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA). After Friday night’s action around the league, the Vikings now sit in 3rd place behind Centre and Birmingham-Southern. Hendrix improved to 7-10 overall and 3-3 in the SAA.

The Vikings held a 38-31 lead at halftime. Hirsh had 19 first half points with Berry shooting 44.4% from the field including 6-for-12 three-point shots. Berry then turned the ball over 11 times in the second half, shooting just 32.0% and were 53.8% at the free throw line.
