ATLANTA — The Berry College men's basketball team fell to the streaking Emory University Eagles with a 92-83 final on Tuesday night, dropping to 7-2 on the year.
Three Vikings scored in double-digits including Elijah Hirsh and Myles Moore who scored 16 apiece. Quinn Atkinson had a strong second half to score 13 for the game. The Eagles claimed their third straight win, improving to 7-2 behind five double-digit scorers. Point guard Romin Williams led the way with 20 points and seven assists.
Berry was felled by an uncharacteristic night at the line. The Vikings came into the night shooting nearly 80% on their free throws, but hit just 12-of-20 for a 60%. Berry was also just 3-for-11 from three-point range. The Eagles were also strong on the offensive glass, recording 15 offensive boards to Berry's seven.
The Vikings held the advantage in the paint, outscoring the Eagles 56-44 down low, but Berry surrendered 22 points on fast breaks.
Berry returns to action on at home on Tuesday against Guilford at 7:00 p.m.
