Connor Justus joined Berry in August of 2022 as an assistant coach on the baseball staff.
Justus played for five seasons combined in the Los Angeles Angels and Miami Marlins organizations. A fifth-round draft pick in the 2016 First Year Player Draft, Justus played over 500 games in the Angels minor league organization, reaching the AA level. For the Marlins, Justus played in multiple positions around the infield, playing in 88 games across AA and AAA, finishing the 2021 season at AAA.
Collegiately, Justus was a standout at Georgia Tech for head coach Danny Hall. He was a three-year starting shortstop for the Yellow Jackets, helping the team to an Atlantic Coast Conference Championship in 2014. He was an All-ACC honoree in his third season after leading GT in hits, triples, runs scored and walks.
Since October 2018, Justus has also been a lead hitting and fielding instructor for The Hood Baseball, Inc. He has mentored, trained, and developed baseball players ranging from age 6-21, developing offensive and defensive skills.
Justus is the Co-Founder of the Garrett Black Memorial Schoarship, which provides the opportunity for a Cartersville High School baseball senior to attend college in memory of Garrett Black, a young boy that lost his life in a bus accident. He also serves as an ambassador for Diversity on the Diamond, a non-profit organization whose main objective is to unify all races and nationalities through the game of baseball.
