
2014: SAA Sportsmanship Team. Named to the SAA Spring 2014 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll. Pitched in two games...compiled a 5.40 ERA...compiled 1.2 innings with two strikeouts...pitched one inning and recorded one strikeout with a 22-3 win versus Transylvania (3/14)...recorded one strike over 2/3 of an inning in Berry's 8-1 victory versus Maryville (Tenn.) (4/22).
2013: Named to the Spring 2013 SAA Student-Athlete Honor Roll and the Dean's List. Did not make an appearance.
2012: Pitched in one game this season...threw a scoreless inning against Huntingdon (03/30).
2011: Pitched in four games out of the bullpen as a freshman and had an 8.10 earned run average…allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three batters in three and a third total innings of work…worked a perfect inning against Methodist (2/13)…fanned two in one and a third frames against Virginia-Wise (2/18).
High School: Three-year letterwinner in baseball and four-year letterwinner in football...tossed a pair of no-hitters and went 3-1 with 19 strikeouts on the mound for Bremen…also hit .300 with 12 runs scored…played on a Bremen team that won the regional championship and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs in 2008 and 2010…Bremen advanced to the third round of the 2009 state playoffs after finishing second in the region…also a member of the football team that won three regional titles…an honor student who earned Scholar-Athlete awards in both football and baseball, and was a member of the Principle’s Honor Roll…named Bremen’s Outstanding Senior…also earned 2010 Citizenship Award, U.S. Army Scholar-Athlete Award, U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award, physical education award, physics award, 2009 George Morris Chick-Fil-A Bowl scholarship, Blue and White Award, Stan Slaughter scholarship...three-time region champion.
Personal: Casey Dylan Coats was born in Carrollton, Ga....the son of Gail and Cliff Coats...has two brothers, Tyler and Corey...has one sister, Hayley...his brother, Tyler, was a first baseman at Berry and earned NAIA athletic and academic All-American honors...majoring in exercise science at Berry College.
