I. Nominator
· Nominations must be made by current or former Berry College students, faculty, or staff
· Nominations may be submitted at any time. Nominations received by August 15, in any given year, will be considered for the current/upcoming academic year’s class.
· Nominations should be supported by appropriate background material.
· Nomination does not guarantee induction. Names of nominees not selected in their first year of nomination will remain on file and be considered for up to 10 years.
II. Student-Athlete Eligibility
· Must have competed for a varsity sport and graduated from Berry.
· At least 10 years must have elapsed to be considered for the Hall of Fame.
· Demonstrated excellence in athletic skill and accomplishments, including being recognized by the conference and/or external bodies.
· Demonstrated sportsmanship, integrity, courage, and character.
· Athlete must have been in good standing with the College.
III. Team Eligibility
· Must have been a sanctioned varsity sports team for the college.
· At least 10 years must have elapsed for the team to be considered for the Hall of Fame.
· Teams nominated must have outstanding records/accomplishments including a conference championship, regional championship, and/or national championship.
· Team should have proven excellence in their sport and stand out as one of the best teams during their time as a varsity intercollegiate program.
IV. Coach Eligibility
· Must no longer be an active coach at Berry College.
· Must have coached at least 5 years for a Berry College varsity team.
· Must have received a minimum of a conference championship as a coach.
· Must have made significant impact on the lives of student-athletes.
· Must have departed from the institution in positive standing and without any major infractions.
V. Athletic Administrator Eligibility
· Must no longer be an active athletic administrator at Berry College.
· Must have served within the department of athletics for at least 5 years at Berry College.
· Must have made a significant contribution to the athletic department and the student-athlete experience or impacted the business of athletics generally and who is an outstanding example of character, leadership, mentorship, and sportsmanship.
· Must have departed from the institution in positive standing and without any major infractions.
VI. Distinguished Service
· The class size may be increased for special consideration by no more than 1 individual per class.
