MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Berry College men's basketball team has announced their schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Matthew Richter returns for his third season as head coach of the Vikings, and the team looks to make it back to the postseason after missing out by a single game last year. The Vikings will play 25 games in the regular season, including 13 games at the Cage Center.
The season begins at home with a 7 p.m. contest against Huntingdon College on November 6, the first of a four game homestand. Next up is a showdown against LaGrange on November 10, then with Emory on November 13, before wrapping it up against NCCAA Toccoa Falls College on November 16.
Berry then travels north to Delaware, Ohio for two games on November 21-22 against Ohio Wesleyan and Marietta before the Thanksgiving break. After the break is another road game against Piedmont on November 29, before the Vikings start conference play with Maryville on December 4 and then Centre on December 6.
The team returns home for two more SAA matchups before Christmas, starting against Rhodes on December 18 and then Millsaps on December 20. The final game of the calendar year sees the team take on Methodist on December 29.
After the new year, the Vikings jump right back into conference play on the road against Sewanee on January 5 and return home for their next game against Oglethorpe on January 10. Next is a trip to Texas for two games against Southwestern and Trinity on January 15 and 17, followed by back-to-back home games against Maryville and Centre on January 22 and 24.
The team's final non-conference game on the season is on the road against Covenant College on January 28, and then they finish the regular season with six straight SAA conference games from February 2-21.
The SAA Conference Tournament takes place from February 25-27 at Maryville College. Only the top six teams in the conference clinch a spot, and the winner receives an automatic bid for the DIII NCAA Tournament.
