PARIS, Ky. – The Berry College women's golf team began the 2026-27 season with a sixth-place finish at the Transylvania Women's Fall Classic behind an impressive collegiate debut from freshman
Lora Prince.
Prince finished with a team-best 150 (+6), which tied her for fourth individually out of 65 golfers, and earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team in her first ever collegiate tournament. Her six total birdies across both rounds also led the Vikings.
Two other freshmen,
Julia Conroy and
Carla Lotz, enjoyed strong outings as well for the Vikings. Conroy finished tied for 18
th with 160 (+16), carding four birdies in round one, while Lotz shot 162 (+18) and finished tied for 25
th.
Sophomore
Hailey Netro shot 168 (+24) and finished tied for 38
th, and lastly
Grace Schuh shot 171 (+27) to place 46
th as the fifth member of the Vikings A Team.
The B Team consisted of
Sophia Joyce,
Paige Greco,
Emery Bryant, and
Aubree Weaver, and they finished in 12
th place overall with a team score of 367. Joyce placed the highest of the four by shooting 165 (+21), good enough to tie for 32
nd.
Christopher Newport took home first place with a team score of +43, but Rose-Hulman finished just one stroke behind with +44. Denison and Piedmont tied for third with a +46, and then Oglethorpe rounded out the top five with a +56.
Next up for the Vikings is a trip to Memphis for the Lee & Joe Duncan Invitational hosted by Rhodes College. The two-day invitational lasts from September 26-27.
