MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Berry College women's track and field team wrapped up the SAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with record setting performances to take third place with 157.5 points. 

Junior Ella Williams started things off with a 7th place finish in the 5000m with an 18:39.95.

Freshman Maddie Denney placed 5th in the Discus with a throw of 36.63m.

Freshman Laney Ray placed 5th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 11.14m and 4th in the 400m Dash in a time of 59.26 seconds.

Julianne Shirley finished 7th in the 400m Dash in a time of 1:01.90.

Junior Kris Williams finished 4th in the High Jump with a jump of 1.57m while Ayla Husby finished 8th with a jump of 1.52m.

Junior Onoyeme Egure won the Shot Put with a throw of 13.84m to rank 8th in the nation while Malysha Winston finished 4th with a throw of 12.47m and Avery Jones finished 5th with a throw of 12.26m

Senior Macy Murdock defended last year's titles winning the 100m Hurdles in 14.99 seconds while Reese Beckner finished third in 15.28 seconds. Murdock also won the 400m Hurdles in an SAA record time of 1:02.46 while Darby Merritt finished 5th in 1:08.09

The Vikings finished 6th in the 4x100 Relay as the team of Julianne Shirley, Reese Beckner, Darby Merritt and Ayla Husby finished in 50.71 seconds.

Senior Anna Ayers finished 5th in the 1500m for a new PR in a time of 4:43.42 which is also the 5th best in Berry history.

Laney Ray was named Rookie of the Year after her great performance including winning the Pole Vault on day one.

The Vikings rounded out the meet finishing third in the 4x400 Relay as the team of Darby Merritt, Macy Murdock, Julianne Shirley and Laney Ray set a new school record with a time of 4:00.28.
