Vikings Set New School Record in 4x200 Relay at Emory Spring Break Classic

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Berry College men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor season at the Emory Spring Break Classic on Friday and Saturday in Atlanta. The women led the way by setting a new school record in the 4x200 Relay.

Women's Top 8 Finishes
The Vikings excelled in the Hammer Throw as Malysha Winston finished 5th with a long of 48.35m while her teammate Avery Jones finished 7th with a long of 45.60m.

Freshman Ayla Husby finished 5th in the Javelin with a throw of 33.81m.

Freshman Laney Ray finished 8th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 10.93m.

Junior Kris Williams finished 8th in the High Jump with a jump of 1.50m.

Freshman Abby Reams finished 7th in the 5000m Open with a 20:18.62.

Junior Ella Williams finished 2nd in the 5000m Invitational with a 18:22.27.

The Vikings got two finishers in the top eight in the Shot Put as junior Onoyeme Egure finished 4th with a throw of 12.85m on her final attempt and senior Malysha Winston finished 7th with a throw of 12.20m. It was the same in the Pole Vault as freshman Laney Ray finished 4th with a vault of 3.45m while teammate Ella Pine finished right behind her in fifth with a vault of 3.30m.

Senior Macy Murdock finished 8th in the 100m Hurdles with a 16.22.

The women then finished off the event with a school record in the 4x200 as Ayla Husby, Darby Merritt, Laney Ray, Macy Murdock finished in 1:45.50.

Men's Top 8 Finishes
Senior Dawson Livingston finished 4th in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 50.22m.

Junior Owen Gagnon finished 8th in the 5000m Open with a 15:56.55 while teammate Brooks Johnson finished 5th in the 5000m Invitational with a 14:59.98.

Freshman Andrew Popp finished 8th in the Pole Vault with a vault of 4.30m.

Freshman Bryce Toomer finished 7th in the Discus with a throw of 44.74m.

Sophomore Tavian Anderson finished 8th in the 1500m with a 4:04.14.

The Vikings the 4x800 Relay as T Harris, Caleb Pritchett, Ethan Smith, Andy Forsyth finished in a time of 7:53.27. They then capped off the meet finishing third in the 4x200 as Corbin Dutcher, Lucas Casaletta-Holmes, Tommy Boudreaux, Braylon Kirkpatrick finished in a time of 1:28.90.
