MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Freshman Griffin Smiles earned SAA Defensive Athlete of the Week after an impressive showing this past Saturday against Methodist. 

The Marietta, Georgia, native pulled down a team-high eight ground balls, including four in the fourth quarter that shifted the game in favor of the Vikings. In just his first official game as a Viking, Griffin proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with defensively for Berry. 

Catch Smiles and the Vikings in action again on February 11th against Huntingdon on the road. First faceoff is set for 7 PM EST / 6 PM CST.
