MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Berry women's soccer goalkeeper
Kate Hill has been named SAA Defensive Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
After winning the award last week with back-to-back shutout wins over Rhodes and Millsaps, Hill picked up right where she left off against Trinity and Southwestern.
She made seven saves against the Tigers to keep the Vikings in the game the whole way. Despite the 1-0 defeat it was only a sign of what was to come last Sunday against the Pirates. In that game she tied her career high with 13 total saves, including nine in the second half, as Berry picked up a crucial point in the standings with a 0-0 draw.
In total, she made 20 saves across the two games and now boasts a goals against average of 0.95, along with 62 total saves and three shutouts.
Hill and the Vikings return home for the final stretch of the regular season on Friday, October 30 against Sewanee. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
