MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Berry women's soccer goalkeeper
Kate Hill has been named SAA Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Hill received the honor after another phenomenal weekend in the net for the Vikings, helping the team earn back-to-back shutout wins over Rhodes and Millsaps. She made seven saves in the team's 1-0 victory over the Lynx and followed it up with another three saves in a 4-0 thrashing of the Majors.
She played all 90 minutes in each game, and was especially clutch down the stretch against Rhodes, making six saves in the second half to stave off any potential comeback.
So far this season, Hill ranks third in the SAA in saves (42), third in save percentage (.808), fourth in saves per game (3.50), and sixth in goals against average (1.05).
The Vikings look to continue this momentum going into two important games this weekend in Texas against Trinity and Southwestern.
