Women's Soccer Picked to Finish Sixth in SAA Preseason Poll

| By:

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Southern Athletic Association has released its preseason poll for women's soccer, with Berry coming in sixth to begin the year.

After a semifinal appearance in 2024, the Vikings will bring back a strong balance of returners and eager newcomers who are sure to make an impact early and often in 2025. They bring back a strong core of All-SAA level returners in Kelsie Crosier, Maddie Owen, Nicole Knight, Caroline Crimi, Olivia Bryan, and Teresa Rodriguez, who took the league by storm as a first-year transfer last season with All-Region honors to boot.

Berry's roster will also receive reinforcements from a couple of stars that suffered injuries last season. Goalkeeper Kate Hill and attacker Gianna Maimone are now fully healthy and primed to have breakout seasons for the Vikings.

Head coach Kathy Insel-Brown says she is excited to see how the elevated level of athleticism this year's squad brings to the table will translate onto the field this season.

Voting was conducted by the league's eight head coaches.

Despite graduating two All-Americans, the Tigers return All-Region standouts Kylie Harris and Bri Werner.

Sewanee, meanwhile, captured its third straight SAA crown last fall with a perfect 6-0 conference record. The Tigers will look to fill the shoes of SAA Offensive Player of the Year and two-time All-American Brianna Fee, as well as four other All-Region selections, including SAA Defensive Player of the Year Ashlyn Richards.

The SAA tournament will begin November 7 in Memphis, Tennessee, hosted by Rhodes College.
