2025 Football Schedule Unveiled

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry football has unveiled its schedule for the 2025 season, with jam-packed action as head coach Tony Kunczewski is ready to lead his team to another conference title.

With three straight seasons of seven wins or more, the Vikings are primed to take the jump from conference dominance to being a national contender after narrowly falling to new SAA conference foe, Maryville College, in the first+ round of the NCAA Tournament last season.

The Vikings bring back a ton of talent on the offensive side of the ball, including senior quarterback Christian Lewis and speedy running back Josh Rogers who had missed last season due to injury. Along with those two will be a highly sought after receiving crew that will be led by proven seniors Khamari Smith, Bryce Herring, and Brendan Gray. In the trenches, keep an eye out for all-conference O-linemen McCormack Langford, Reed Richards, and Tyler Martin to anchor what was one of the most solid offensive lines in the SAA last season.

Defensively, Berry will look to an ultra-talented defensive line to control the first level of their defense with Michael Clark, Dawson Livingston, David Attaochu, and Jaden Melville all returning to bolster the position group. Behind them will be do-it-all linebackers Christopher Lewis and Alex Mincey pacing the linebacking core. Defensive back Gian Traverzo will be returning as one of the main patrollers of the Viking secondary, as he will lead a bevy of young talent to round out the Berry defense.

The 2025 slate begins as it has since 2023 for the Vikings as they will battle the Hawks of Huntingdon College at Valhalla on September 6. Week 2 will feature the Vikings hitting the road to take on in-state foe LaGrange College on September 13. The Vikings then make the long trek all the way to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to take on the Carnegie Mellon Tartans. The Tartans achieved a 10-2 record last year that included an NCAA Tournament win over Centre and a narrow 24-19 loss to Mount Union in the third round. Conference action begins after a bye week for the Vikings as they host Rhodes College on October 4th. Then, it will be a showdown on Mountain Day that features the Vikings looking for retribution against Trinity University of Texas, who they lost to in overtime last season.

SAA action heats up in the second half of the season, with five straight weeks of conference action that begins with a trip to Sewanee on October 18. The following week, Berry hosts the Majors of Millsaps College on October 25. Berry then sets their sights on two teams that they have a series of tightly contested matchups with over the years. They will face Centre on November 1 in Danville, Kentucky, and then Maryville at home on November 8, in a two-week span that might just decide the fate of the SAA. Finally, Berry closes out the season with a road trip to Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, as they will look to close out their case for a conference championship and an NCAA Playoff berth.
