MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The Vikings took on Rhodes College this afternoon in the SAA Semifinals, falling 18-7.
Berry came into the game knowing it would be a battle from the first draw. Annakate Estock took the initial lead in the first period after a five minute opening period.
After that, the Lynx went on a 4-1 run to end the first period as Estock tabbed another Berry goal.
Rhodes opened the second period with two quick goals before first team All-SAA selection
Dani Taraska found the back of the net. With the score at 6-3 with Rhodes on top, Berry found an opportunity to cut the lead with Taraska taking a free position shot in which she soared past the Lynx goalie to be down by only two goals.
In the remaining ten minutes of the first half, the action would slow as both teams picked up their defense, but Rhodes found two more goals to extend their lead into halftime.
After a quick locker room break, the weather was not friendly, and a lightning delay ensued in Memphis.
Berry struggled to find momentum in the second half after the lightning delay but both Taraska and Estock scored their third goal for the team and
Molley Cross added in one of her own before the final buzzer.
The Vikings finish their season 12-7 overall with many All-Conference selections for their tremendous efforts this season.
