MEMPHIS - The Vikings Women's Lacrosse team ended their regular season this afternoon with a 17-5 loss to Rhodes. Berry ends with a record of 11-6 overall and 3-2 in the SAA.
Freshman
Morgan Barton began the game with an early goal to go up on the Lynx and
Maddie Mashburn scored the second goal for a2-0 lead over Rhodes in the first five minutes. The home team found some power at the six minute mark and snuck one by starting goalkeeper
Myskina Bolavong, but
Madeline Dahl closed out the first period to keep the Vikings on top at 3-1.
Rhodes gained control in the second on a three to nothing run to boost their offense and take the advantage by one goal (4-3).
Katie Claire Smith would tie it up, but another man-up situation played into the favor of the Lynx who closed out the first half up 5-4.
The second half was where Rhodes took complete control of the game with hot offense as the Vikings went cold. Twelve consecutive goals from the Lynx extended the game out of reach for Berry.
The Vikings now head to the SAA tournament and will take on the sixth seeded Warriors of Hendrix at Rhodes College on Friday, April 25.Â
