Box Score 3 ROME, Ga. - On senior day, the Vikings tennis teams produced two wins over Millsaps and the women added another sweep of Snead State.
Women's Results:
The Berry women had another strong showing today against Millsaps College, as all three doubles teams came out swinging followed their senior day celebrations which honored
Lauren Masteller,
Olivia Walton,
Lacey Craig,
Sakura Manning, Momoka Manning, and
Ella Stevens. All three doubles won 6-0 with
Lauren Masteller / Saris Mejia at first,
Sophie Gibbs /
Olivia Walton at second, and
Lacey Craig /
Sakura Manning at third.
Singles began with the same rhythm as Saris Mejia at second and
Lacey Craig at fifth both secured 6-0, 6-0 victories. This was followed shortly with Lauren Mateller at first and
Sakura Manning at sixth both winning 6-2, 6-1.
Sophie Gibbs at third and
Olivia Walton at fourth met resistance, but prevailed 6-4, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-3, respectively.
Berry secured their second consecutive 7-0 conference sweep, and are excited to continue their march forward against Hendrix and Rhodes next weekend.

Following their 7-0 victory against Millsaps earlier in the morning, the ladies continued their march forward with an afternoon match against Snead State CC.
Given the discrepancy in player rankings between Berry and Snead State, the Berry head coach fielded the bottom half of the lineup to ensure everyone played a match. This led to new doubles pairings with Momoka Manning /
Maggie Cox winning 6-1 at first and
Anna Oliver /
Charlee Eidson winning at third 6-0 in decisive fashion.
Sloane Vaccaro /
Ella Stevens remained close to their opponent, but lost serve near the final game of the match to lose 4-6.
With the doubles point secured, the ladies looked to extend their dominance as
Maggie Cox at first and
Carolina Hanson at second were the quickest to finish 6-2 6-0 and 6-0 6-1, respectively. This was followed by a strong performance from
Momo Manning 6-0, 6-2 at third, and
Paige Evans 6-3, 6-0 at fourth.
Sydney Coppola prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at fifth and
Ella Stevens finished the sweep at sixth singles by winning 6-1, 6-4.
The women capped a strong day with two 7-0 sweeps against both Millsaps and Snead State CC, and will look to continue their win streak next weekend against Rhodes and Hendrix.

Jace Goode at third singles were the first to take care of business with a 6-1 victory, followed shortly by
Jake Chapman /
Aiden Benoualid winning 6-2 at second doubles, and
Noah Koch / Leo Nedkov winning 6-4 at first doubles.
Singles unfolded in a similar fashion as
Bohdan Higley at sixth, Jace Good at fifth, and
Aiden Benoualid at fourth won 6-1 6-0, 6-0 6-0, and 6-0 6-1, respectively. With Berry having won the meet, the remaining players loosened up and played some of their strongest tennis, with
Jake Chapman at second overcoming a decisive tiebreak to win 7-6, 3-6, 10-7. Leo Nedkov at third was unfortunately unable to turn things around in his tiebreak, losing 6-4, 2-6, 5-10.
Noah Koch at first faced a consistently strong opponent who prevailed 6-4, 6-3 over Noah.
With a first conference win under their belt, the men will look to extend their streak next weekend as they travel for competition against Rhodes and Hendrix.
