Lewis Rookie of the Year - Four Receive All-SAA Honors

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Four women's basketball players have received postseason recognition from the Southern Athletic Association for their efforts on the court this season. 

Freshman Briaiah Lewis earned SAA Rookie of the Year and All-SAA Honorable Mention as a breakout addition for the Vikings. In just her first year of collegiate basketball, Lewis averaged 8.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. The Atlanta, Georgia, native bamboozled opponents all season with her fancy footwork and ability to dominate the post. Her best game was against Millsaps on January 18, where she had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Lewis is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the SAA for years to come. 

Senior Kenadie Lee made her way into the slate of awards with an All-SAA Second Team nod. Lee closes out her illustrious career as a Viking with a season average of 12.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Lee's ability to pace the Berry offense and hit timely shots was crucial all year for the Viking's success. The Sylvania, Alabama, native's best game came on January 15 against Oglethorpe, when she put up 23 points and 9 rebounds in the 66-57 victory. Lee's efficiency was also on display this season, as she shot over 80 percent from the free throw line. 

Junior Elly Callihan garnered All-SAA Honorable Mention honors after another standout season. She averaged 10.1 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game and also drew numerous charges defensively, earning the Vikings tons of extra possessions. The Ellijay, Georgia, native was a two-way force who could score effortlessly from all three levels of the floor. Callihan's most impressive game this year came on February 16 against Millsaps, where she poured in 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists to help the Vikings to a huge win.  

Callie Jackson rounds out the awards for Berry as she earned a spot on the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team for her team. Her zeal and spirit spoke volumes to the conference about what it means to "Be Berry."
