| By:
LEXINGTON, KY - Viking volleyball continues to rack up the accolades, as Ava Brovet earned AVCA National Freshman of the Year and All-American Third Team, while Madie Whitehead earned her way to First Team All-American stardom.

Brovet made her mark as a perennial setter not only in the Southern Athletic Association, but in the entire country. She was a catalyst of the Viking offense with a jaw-dropping 1,177 assists, which places her second all-time for a single season in Berry Volleyball's rich history. The Raleigh, North Carolina native also was a force on the defensive end with 239 digs and 76 total blocks on the year going into the elite eight.

Madie Whitehead found her way to one of the most prestigious lists in college volleyball as she broke through to First Team All-American honors with a record-setting 444 kills this season. Her combination of athleticism and power has given opposing defenses nightmares throughout the season on her way to the accolade. Whitehead also tabbed 41 service aces and 16 assists to round out her offensive barrage. Defensively, she was a force on the frontline with 81 total blocks on the year, going into the elite eight.

Brovet and Whitehead look to lead the Vikings past the #1 team in the country in East Texas Baptist, and into the final four on December 3rd at 4:30 PM.
