LIGONIER, Penn. -
The Berry College men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Tartan Invitational in Ligonier, Pa at Laurel Valley Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon. Carnegie Mellon, the host, with Laurel Valley rolled out the red carpet for the teams this week. The golf course was incredible and was set up with some teeth to it. Long Par 4's, greens rolling 13 plus, bent grass fairways which made contact a premium. Huntingdon took home the team trophy and Joshua Yang earned medalist honors. The Vikings finished 14th out of a heavily ranked 17 teams with Jay Sanders leading the way finishing T7 with rounds of 72,73,76. Zack Lim moved up the leaderboard on the final day to 17th with a 2 under par 70 (third lowest round of the day) to accompany his first two rounds of 75 and 79.
The bunkers were some of the most strategically placed bunkers Berry had ever seen, catching balls just off a yard or two of their line, some balls being plugged in the lips of the bunkers. A true test and an incredible trip. Rounding out for the Vikings were
Landon Painter finishing 60
