DANVILLE, Va. - Berry Women's soccer took on their second game in two days, finding enough energy to tie with Averett University on the road, 0-0.
On a humid day at Daly Field for an early afternoon game, the Vikings were looking for a win after coming off a tough game the previous night.
Berry worked the Cougars keeper, shooting 29 shots on the day, way more than the night before, and eleven of them required attention from the Averett goalie who held strong between the posts.
With the majority of the possessions being on the Vikings side, the frustration set in as they were unable to find the back of the net across 90 minutes.
Their defense did not suffer by their offensive efforts. The Vikings shut down the Cougars and
Maggie Jones returned as the starting goalkeeper with two saves on the day to force a draw on the road.
Berry Women's Soccer plays three games next week, beginning on the road at Covenant College on Tuesday then finally making an appearance at Pearson Field on Saturday and Sunday.
