DANVILLE, Ky. - Berry Women's Lacrosse finalized their 2024 campaign with a tough 15-14 loss at host school Centre College.
Abby Sprayberry notched the first of seven first quarter goals for the Vikings. The Colonels quickly tied it at one on the next draw control and the same thing happened with the second goal of the game.
Tied at two, Berry woke up offensively on a 5-0 run led by two from SAA Honorable Mention
Molley Cross.
Centre refused to lay down being down by five goals, they brought the game within one off back-to-back goals with 2:30 remaining in the half.
The tying goal came in the third on a four to nothing run that captured an 11-8 lead for the host team.
Now the Vikings were forced to fight back in a familiar fashion from the last face-off in the regular season.
Dani Taraska, Berry's leading scorer, closed out the third with a goal bringing the game within two heading into the final 15 minutes of the SAA Semifinals match.
With 8:34 to go in the game, Berry was down 15-11 looking to get back in the game. Unfortunately, the late three goals from the Vikings came up just short as the final goal of the game was unable to soar past the Colonels goalie.
