TAMPA, Fla. - Berry Men's Lacrosse hit the road to Florida this spring break to take on Marymount at St. Leo and fell 19-13.
It seemed to be the fourth period that doomed the Vikings in the matchup after playing tight the first three periods.
Marymount came out quick, scoring in the first eight seconds of the game and following that goal up with another one to take the 2-0 lead early on.
Joey Cuthbert scored the first goal for the Vikings to put them on the board. The first period played out back and forth, but Berry was down one heading to the second 5-4.
The second period played the same rhythm as the first with the Vikings being downed, this time by two goals before making a switch between the pipes at the half.
Offensively the Vikings were led by three goals from
Michael Beirne who also led the team with two assists.
After halftime, Marymount still continued to apply pressure and hold strong in the goal, only allowing the Vikings to score one in the fourth as they added five to take the game.
Berry will return to action at home against Hampden-Sydney on March 13th.
